At the end of January I got back on my bike and raced. I was still in pain from the previous weekend's race, but pain goes away and pride is forever.  We were racing to raise money for Clear Path a non-profit organization that helps our veterans. We raced right on their property. The view was stunning! Just beautiful! My friends kept telling me that I was getting faster and they must be right because I was passing a lot of racers that always beat me in years past. It was a cool race and something I would do again.  Now...

I'm use to racing my fat bike on well groomed trails that are like white pavement which was not the case a few weeks ago. The course was sloppy and I crashed hard at the beginning of the race which lead to an emergency room visit after the race. The doctor was really impressed I finished the race. "Your in a lot of pain" she says. I can take failure but I will NEVER stand for giving up. I was not going to take a d.n.f. I explained. She than says, "I'm going to tell me kids about this story...
