It was muddy and cold day with an early attack from the leading pack leaving me in dead last. I fought hard to catch the pack and when we hit the hill I passed a few to take first. I was out in front for a while until I was caught. My competitor and I battled for a miles for he pulled away from me putting me in second place.  I was trying to chase down the leader and pace car when a volunteer out on the course directed me to go the wrong way. The Festival of Falkes offered participants an unparalleled opportunity to compete in a weekend of fat biking and snowshoe running. Day two of the Festival was the SnoFatShu. Named after the mythical Icelandic Monster, the SnoFatShu consists of a snowshoe jaunt of approximately 5K of groomed trials, arriving back to the transition area to send the partner racer out with the fat bike for a 12K “ish” of fat trail heaven.
