Going Green

Stickboy Coffee wants to be in business for a long time and in order to do so a healthy planet is a necessary for our business to grow. Our founder and owner Stickboy (aka Tom) has always loved Mother Nature being an outdoors person, but he quickly learned that we are facing an environmental crisis.

We understand that the environment does not have a voice to speak for itself, therefore it is considered in every business decision that we make. When looking at the waste generated by Stickboy Coffee – cardboard boxes and packing material – we recycle and reuse everything we can. When you receive your package you may find some recycled packing materials in your package and your cardboard box might be recycled as well. It makes all the difference in the world for Stickboy Coffee to use fewer materials and less energy to generate as little waste as possible so that we can start to restore the planets natural resources.

All invoices and receipts are printed on standard recycled paper. By using recycled paper it’s estimated that we save 38 trees a year from being cut down, saved unnecessary use of 15,000 gallons of water that would be needed to produce the paper and kept about 2 pounds of pollutants out of the air that we breathe! How awesome is that? It’s also important to point out that the paper we use is Sustainable Forestry Imitative Certified which promotes responsible forest management. To adhere to our “Made in the USA” philosophy, our paper is proudly made in Atlanta, Georgia.

In the five years that Stickboy Coffee has been in business we have saved 190 trees from being cut down, saved unnecessary use of 75,000 gallons of water that would be needed to produce the paper and we have kept 10 pounds of pollutants out of the air that we breathe.

We aim to heighten awareness of product packaging and its potential for wastefulness and possible harm to the environment. In 2005, the United States Environmental Protection Agency reported that containers and packaging accounted for approximately 31% of total waste. This serves as a reminder to all companies, including Stickboy Coffee, that we are not only responsible for prepackaging, but after-purchase packaging as well.
